It may interest Germans, but certainly not all Euroepens. Germany is a big
cuntry in Europe, but it is not all of it.

Or maybe they were right but it is you who was told the wrong story.

What has all that got to do with the American obsession with WWII?

So you say, but that does not match my observation.

Yes, I am fed up with this digging in the past. It serves no purpose and it is
annoying. But I do not avoid it as such. If I would, I would ignore you and i
am respoding am I?

The fact is Roy that the only place I get constantly confronted with WWII is
right here in Fidonet in the so called "international echos".

Exactly my point. Only those interested in drugs or prostitution and who start
looking for it, will see it.

I see no evidence of drugs or prostitution when go out on the street. Neither
do I see any evidence of people interested in WWII.

My guess is that the same would happen if you looked at a book about vintage
cars or fishing. It does not mean that WWII is anything special, other than
that YOU showed an interest..

One of the reasons I do not have an account with them.

The folding of the housing market in the US is what triggered the world
financial crisis. And the US housing market still hasn't recovered.

Same here. But look at the national debt figures. The US scores a lot higher
per capita than Europe.
