Interesting comment from someone who used the Fidonews echo for _his_ pathetic
agenda.

The Snooze being the newsletter. The echo was quite another matter.

Well, there are naysayers and naysayers. I've seen some pretty ridiculous
statements (again: in the echo, not the newsletter) that didn't requite much of
a brain to discount, much less written "proof".

In fact, that's one of our real weaknesses in fido, this habit of claiming
someone is "wrong" unless he provides "proof" of a statement. As someone who
believes in personal initiative, it seems to me like the person challenging
something should do a little work, too. And of course, there are some of us -
me being one - who don't keep years and years of archives and thus often can't
"prove" someone said/wrote something many years after the fact, but who have
excellent memories.

I think we should all come down to earth on stuff like this, since in the end
effect all we're doing is pitting one statement against another and trying to
decide who is the more believeable source. Which is often near or completely
impossible to do.

As usual, one more personal insult from someone who claims not to follow an
agenda, and then wonders why so many people dislike him.

Well, if publishing cooking recipes in view of the dearth of other
contributions is an "agenda", it's certainly one I can personally accept with
better grace than hate tirades directed toward various people and various
groups as in the pre-split Fidonews echo.

And certainly, it's better than "publishing" a Fidonews newsletter that nobody
bothers to read because it's empty most of the time anyway.
