Ärende: Swedes

Hello Everybody,

America is a nation of immigrants.  We have people from all
over the world who call this place "home".  And some of those
people are from Sweden, or descendants of folks from Sweden.
Most Swedes (and their descendents) prefer to live in cold
climates, such as land close to the North Pole.  In America,
the closest that would be is North Dakota (the Russians took
over Alaska before Swedes had a chance).  Anyway, here are
a few personal observations about Swedes -

Swedes hail from the Kingdom of Sweden, which is ruled by Odin.
It is a land where ecology is a passion.  Especially ice.  Most
of this ice comes from the many tens of thousands of lakes that
exist only during the short summertime (also known as the Summer
Solstice).  And they intend to keep it that way.

Swedes have a classless society, as Swedes have no class.  As such,
Swedes work to promote cooperation.  Especially amongst themselves.
It is a great lesson they learned from Odin, who also taught Thor.
This classless society is a perfect union of capitalism and socialism,
as only Swedes could make it happen, serving progress and humanity
of Swedes around the world and beyond.  Their high taxation makes
becoming wealthy difficult, but not impossible, given the fact
that Swedes have the highest standard of living in the world.

Swedes try their best for reconciliation, believing that all
should be forgiven.  Individualism, collectivism, and equality
for all are also highly prized.  That is why women make up half
if not more of their workforce, with everyone receiving almost
a full month of vacation each and every year.  Not to mention
a full year of maternity leave (for both men and women alike).

However, there is a downside.  In Sweden (not in the the USA),
Swedish men (not women) must serve thirty weeks to twenty months
compulsory military service.  No equal opportunity for women in
that department.  And not a voluntary or mercenary armny, as
Swedish men are forcibly dragged from their mates so as no other
foreign power could invade their icy home.  Sure, the men did
protest, being pacifists at heart.  But when they did that, the
king threatened to make service also compulsory for women.  That
particular threat quickly put an end to the protests.

Most Swedes were born into the Lutheran faith, both in Sweden
and in the USA.  However, today most Swedes are agnostics, having
found out what Luther was all about.

More about Swedes later as time allows.  Nature calls.  :)
