Quite right.

One would think that the EC would have a very influencial arguement for
the document, considering their own actions.

That's unfortunate...the powers that be have missed a great opportunity to
bring everyone together under one or two languages for a starter, and
eventually work toward a one language union.

i.e. in the US, it was determined by the founding fathers that English or
German would be the 'national' language. English was given the nod and
except for a few stubborn users, German passed into history here.

It is over if the EP says it is.

But that brings the question: can a person that you've shared it with
share it with someone else without your permission? That would have to be
by contractual agreement here.
