War is a nasty business, regardless of who is fighting who.

The "average person" of every country in the world is anti-violence
and anti-war.  Including those in the USA.  To say that one people are
more anti-violence and anti-war than another people is hardly what
anybody would call an accurate statement.

The Russian people have more first-hand experience of war than the
American people.  Not only that, but Russia is surrounded by countries
that have been, and can be, more than a bit hostile.  Quite unlike the
USA, which borders much more friendly countries, namely Canada and
Mexico, along with Russia across the Bering Sea.

Consider the last time the USA was invaded.  That was in 1812, by
the British.  Today, the USA and Great Britain are the best of friends,
having made our peace long ago.  Russia has been invaded by Napoleon
(France) in the 19th Century, and then again by Hitler (Germany) in
the 20th Century.  Who will invade Russia next?  Will it be a Muslims
from the south?  Chinese from the east?  There is no ocean dividing
Muslims or Chinese from Russia.

Russians have reason to be paranoid.  Perhaps Americans should
also be paranoid, given what technology can do today.  After all,
oceans will not stop missiles carrying nuclear bombs from hitting
their intended targets...

Yhe British had made the same mistake twice, and then a third time
by answering the call from the Americans.  At least the Russians had
learned from the mistakes of the British not do make the same mistake
twice much less a third time.

We won the Vietnam war.  But the Vietnamese could never hold their
own, not with the South Vietnamese officers armed with American money
and the South Vietnamese troops having been trained by the French.

Think about it.  If you were an officer in the South Vietnamese Army,
and the North Vietnamese Army was about to overrun your position, the
first thing you would do is bribe US officials to give you a ride to
America.  And if you were just a grunt in the South Vietnamese Army,
seeing what your commanding officer just did, you would run away into
the hills as fast as you could, and hope to live another day.

The US invaded Grenada, executing a group of Cuban contractors.
Not sure what happened to the elected leader of Grenada.  Probably
got shot by Castro himself for not having protected those Cuban
contractors.

The US invaded Panama, the Panamanian strongman being holed up
inside of a church.  We then convinced the priest to perform a rite
of exorcism, which worked to perfection, sending the Panamanian
right into our loving arms.

The US threatened to invade Nicaragua, but the Nicaraguan leader
stepped aside to take a vacation, allowing a puppet government
to be installed while he was away.  And upon his return, he won
election to his old job, without ever fearing a US invasion.

Harry Truman ordered the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
And even after the atomic bombing of those two Japanese cities, more
bombings (conventional) took place.  Even though leaflets had been
dropped telling the Japanese people the war was over and no more
bombing would commence.

After the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, with the Japanese
leadership having surrendered, Curtis LeMay advised Harry Truman
to continue nuking cities.  Only instead of nuking Japanese cities,
LeMay wanted Truman to start nuking Russian cities.  And never stop
dropping nukes until Russia gave its unconditional surrender.  Just
as the Japanese had done.

The atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was not only a crime
against humanity, but a race crime against humanity.  The only reason,
if one can call it that, as to why Truman ordered those cities to be
atomized, is because Truman hated the Japanese.  Fortunately for
Russia, most Russians are white.
