No, merely pointing out that Irex cannot be used to dial a POTS line.

That he uses it and the fact that it has been abandoned means diddely
squat. We all use or have used at one time, abandoned software. I use FE
and IREX and have no problems dialing a POTS line, if I use software meant
to do that. Even the software that came with my USRobotics modem still
does what it was meant to do.

Irex is not used to dial a POTS system. So what is your point?

There is no such 'report' of "NO CARRIER" seen in any Irex message when
it cannot connect to a binkp system. It reports in very understandable
English that the system cannot be linked and returns an error code.

There was an ASSumption made or implied that Irex is at fault with a
failed POTS line connection.  It wasn't nor can it be, because it does not
have a phone dialer mode. I take personal offense to that assumption
because I also use Irex, abandoned or not, it still does what it was
designed to do. And it does that very well if I have to say so myself.

You didn't have to 'consult' with anyone, you just agreed that Irex was at
fault and expounded on that point.
