i've been using FD since before 1.99 was released...

there have been only two actual text based files that FD has required for
operation since i've been using FD... ROUTE.FD and FDNODE.CTL... there is also
a BANNER.FD file that can be used but it is not required for operation...
everything else is and has been binary files created and maintained with
FDSETUP... i have several dozen of them these days due to my multinode
configuration and they all require FDSETUP for changes to them...

the following are all binary files (for my configuration) that FD requires to
operate... the ones with numbers are optional and specific to only one node...
without them, the default one is used or the info is read from SETUP.FD...
MDCFGxxx.FD are examples of this...

ACTMONDB.FD  - maint by FD; activity notices for all nodes
EVENT   .FD  - events file; covers all nodes w/o a specific events file
EVENT11 .FD  - events file for node 11 only
EVENT12 .FD  - events file for node 12 only
EVENT13 .FD  - events file for node 13 only
EVENT14 .FD  - events file for node 14 only
EVENT15 .FD  - events file for node 15 only
FILQUEUE.FD  - maint by FD; contains entries for outbound fileattaches
FOLDER  .FD  - contains the message areas definitions for FM
LASTC1  .FD  - maint by FD; lastcall data for node 1
LASTC2  .FD  - maint by FD; lastcall data for node 2
LASTC3  .FD  - maint by FD; lastcall data for node 3
LASTC4  .FD  - maint by FD; lastcall data for node 4
LASTC5  .FD  - maint by FD; lastcall data for node 5
LASTC6  .FD  - maint by FD; lastcall data for node 6
LASTC7  .FD  - maint by FD; lastcall data for node 7
LASTC8  .FD  - maint by FD; lastcall data for node 8
LASTC11 .FD  - maint by FD; lastcall data for node 11

these files are all text based and manually edited... none of these are
required other than FDNODE.CTL and ROUTE.FD... the ones with numbers are
specific to only that one node...

FDNODE  .CTL - FDNC control file; ph# overrides, pvt nodelist, dial xlat
FREQ    .CTL - list of FREQable file directories
FREQFAIL.CTL - sent to remote when their FREQ files for some reason
MAJIK   .CTL - list of magic names for FREQ in insecure session
MAJIKS  .CTL - list of magic names for FREQ in secure session
BAN1    .FD  - banner file for node 1
BAN2    .FD  - banner file for node 2
BAN3    .FD  - banner file for node 3
BAN4    .FD  - banner file for node 4
BAN5    .FD  - banner file for node 5
BAN6    .FD  - banner file for node 6
BAN7    .FD  - banner file for node 7
BAN8    .FD  - banner file for node 8
BAN9    .FD  - banner file for node 9
BAN10   .FD  - banner file for node 10
BAN11   .FD  - banner file for node 11
BAN12   .FD  - banner file for node 12

ROUTE13 .FD  - routing file for node 11
ROUTE14 .FD  - routing file for node 11
ROUTE15 .FD  - routing file for node 11
