I don't know what you mean by do the reverse.  No English dictionary is
going to give me "regering" as a definition or synonym for government.
What I get is:
The body with the power to make and/or enforce laws for a country, land
area, people, or organization.
(note the make and/or enforce part).


What I did was to do a search on "regering" and obtained the definition
of:

government; the executive body of a country's governmental system.


 MVDV> Not "executive branch" or "part of the governmen", just government.

There are many dictionaries, and all of the ones I have consulted do not
limit government to the executive body, but give it a much wider scope.

I have now checked a number of dictionaries, and while they do not word
their definitions the same, they agree in concept that government is
more than just the head part of the executive branch.

I'm having difficulty with the statement that your dictionary gave only
a one word definition as if "regering" and "government" were synonymous.
As Robert could tell you, it often very inaccurate to rely on one for
one word replacements when translating from one human language to
another.  Just take a look at the mess that Bable does with translating
web pages.

But I shall one more time come back to the fact that you were talking
about my POV when you referred to my government as being a winner take
all with respect to the Presidental election.  Even when you were
informed that your use of the term was inaccurate, you keep insisting
that you are right.  So nothing has changed, nor do I expect it to ever
change.
