Ärende: The Dubai Connection

Is anyone except for me following the storm in a teapot surrounding the murder
of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai?

I personally find it amusing that this top terrorist, who was in Dubai to buy
weapons for further terrorism and got the same kind of treatment as he had
meted out to others, is now at the center of such a massive criminal
investigation - but unfortunately not of his own crimes.

Of course, nobody exceopt Hamas really cares about the guy or what happened to
him - that's just window dressing. The Dubai authorities are mad because he was
murdered in their country and that makes them look bad with the Palastinians.
The British, Irish and others whose passports were misused are only mad because
the murderers used fake passports from their countries and they're afraid the
Palastinian terrorists will accuse them of complicity.

The Hamas Palastinians are, of course, mad because they won't get the weapons
he was going to buy and instead of being able to shoot Israelis and other
"infidels" will have to work for a living. It's a rough life. But there'll be
the fun of the funeral, with hordes of black-hooded toughs shooting AK-47s into
the air (what do the cartridges cost and how much food and medicine could you
buy for a few cases?) and plenty of weeping and screaming.

And of course, the Israelis are keeping their mouths shut and neither denying
nor confirming anything - an excellent method to keep an enemy guessing.

After all the hue and cry has died down, I figure Hamas will just collect
enough money for another load of weapons, get themselves another buyer and keep
going "business as usual".

And we in the EU will get still another round of "counterfeit-proof" passports,
maybe this time tattooed on our bellies. All in a good day's work.
