Here in The Netherlands there are no volume caps. Apparently there is so much
bandwith on the backbone that there is no need for volume caps. That backbone
was build for the radio astronomers who used it to synthesize several thousands
of antennas into one vitual antenna the size of the country. Google for LOFAR.

They lend out about 1% of it to the InterNet community. Which takes care of all
their needs.


Now that the ISPs have been selling "no volume cap" connections, they can't go
back on that. The first one to do so, would immidiately losse his customers to
the competition.

One way or another you pay.

Same as with cars provided by the company. I always negotiated a salary high
enough to allow me to buy my own car. I felt that in the long run I was better
off that way.

For one it allowed me to drive home instead of having to walk, when I was
fired. ;-)
