VooDoo is the main influence in Cajun Louisiana, especially in areas
in and around New Orleans.  For example, Mardi Gras begins on the 12th
day of Christmas and ends at midnight when Ash Wednesday begins.  There
are massive crowds who party during this festive time, but there are
also balls with kings and queens and courts who serve them.  While
the rabble can enjoy the parades and other hedonistic activities, only
the very wealthy (and invited guests) get to play at the balls ...

Doesn't matter if you are religious or non-religious.
The fellow on your screen looks very Swedish, being a white
man with blonde hair, a straight nordic nose and blue eyes.

Now you know why Americans exclaim "Swede Jesus!" whenever
they see a picture or painting of Jesus.  And sometimes without
even looking.  So clean your ears next time you think you hear
an American saying "Sweet Jesus!" as that is defninitely not
what is being said.

About 24 million people at its peak, a very small percentage of total
population.  24 million out of 350 million people.

Just because some Russians were card carrying communists does not
mean that all Russians were communists or believed in communism.
For many Russians being a member of the Communist Party was a
matter of privilege rather than ideology.  Of course, that all
changed when Boris Yeltsen tore up his membership card ...

Just because the overwhelming majority of Germans were Nazis does
not mean that most or all Germans believed in Nazism.  Pope Emeritus
Benedict XVI was a Nazi who went AWOL.  He should have been picked
up and shot for desertion.  However, the other soldiers probably
felt sorry for him since he had a broken leg, knowing he could not
walk or run very far.

All of the earliest images of Jesus show Him as a black man.  A black
man with nappy hair (Daniel 7:9).  A black man from the continent of
Africa.  Jesus is depicted as the "lamb of God" - which is why his hair
is described as being "white as wool" (Revelation 1:14).

Why the change from a black Jesus to a white Jesus?  Because around
the 1500s over 90% of the world's Christians lived in Europe.  And
Europeans wanted to present Jesus in their own image rather than in
God's image.

Warner Sallman's "Head of Christ" depiction of 1940 is considered
the most popular image of Jesus of all time, having been reproduced
over 500 million times.  People want to view Jesus as being one of
their own, rather than the real thing as it would be too shocking.

The only place in the Bible that I could find mention of December 25
as being the birthdate of Jesus was in the first chapter of the Gospel
According to Matthew, and then only as a mathematical puzzle.  I think
the author intended it as an amusement/diversion rather than historical
fact.  But regardless of what day Jesus was actually born, there is no
doubt Jesus was black, as was his mother (and stepfather).  After he
was born, his parents fled with him to Egypt, where they hid in a black
community where no white Roman soldiers could even hope to find them.
