More obvious reasons....

Hence my statement regarding "Russian" people of Crimea.  Seems that's the
reasoning behind Putin's actions that he was trying to protect "them".

Something that normally happens internally can be a good thing.  Outside
interference is questionable if not illegal.

Listening to those in Eastern Ukraine, most definitely.

Without a doubt.  There is also the NATO possibility, although I know it was
shelved when Yanukovych was elected. Not that it matters as most in the Ukraine
are opposed to it but it could be another thread that holds the seams of the
country together.  Now with all Ukraine forces ordered to return north, it
seems Putin got the "ruby" but let's hope the "diamond" isn't split into dust.
