Yes, that old Dell 531S seemed like a great box when I got it for a bargain
price... until it was unable to update later versions of Ubuntu <g> It didn't
affect me so badly though (until it died Lol), as I simply d/l'd updated
packages and their dependencies, compiled them and installed them.

Ok makes sense.  And with this new system updating should be smoother. Given
Ubuntu's extended support with this version I'm running now I do expect to
update as time goes on.

I think they had to do that.. and it's a good thing for sure.

I run KDE here for things like email, etc.. but most of the work I do is in
consoles. Gui access to the file system is no fun to me <grin>

Yes, they'll get there.  While I'm not an afficiando of games, Ron is <grin>..
He's got three systems sitting on his desk for development purposes and also
