I wasn't gonna bother with this...but I had a few spare moments.....


Normally a woman becomes pregnant when an egg released from her ovary is
fertilized by a males' sperm.


The egg then attaches to the inside of her uterus, and developes into a baby.


Hormones in the woman control the release of the egg (ovulation) and prepare
the body to recieve the fertilized egg.


Hormonal contraceptives (the pill) contain a small amount of man-made
estrogen and progestin hormones. And these hormones inhibit the body's natural
cyclical hormones to prevent pregnancy. Pregnancy prevented...no *abortion*
involved. Another of the things this hormonal contraceptive (the pill) does is
to stop the body from ovulating. No ovulation ...no pregnancy. No *abortion*
involved.


Hormonal contraceptives (the  pill) can also change the cirvical mucus in such
a way as to make it difficult for the sperm to find an egg. No egg found by
the sperm, no pregnancy. No *abortion* involved. Also, hormonal contraceptives
(the pill) can prevent pregnancy by making the lining of the womb inhospitable
for implantation. No implantation, no pregnancy. No *abortion* involved.


There may be a new option for hormonal contraception, called `extended-cycle
use. This contains the same hormones as other birth control pills, but are
taken in a longer cycle intended to reduce the number of yearly menstrual
periods a woman has from 13 down to 4. But, again...no *abortion* involved.


Now...let me straighten you out on something.


Your lame attempt to make me out as an *abortionist* because I issue
physician-prescribed birth control pills to women patients isn't just absurd,
it borders on the stupid.


For many years in the past, the leftists (especially the women) in Fido who
were adamant supporters of a woman's right to have abortions, were loud and
lengthy in their self-satisfied claims that, in the first two or three months
of a pregnancy, we are dealing not with a `human being'...but nothing more
than a `pologlot'! Nothing more sentient than an `amoeba'! An `invasion' by a
glob of worthless bio-matter in the woman's womb, which she has the right to
evict, as her womb is her `personal property'! (After all....she has RIGHTS!)


So...your lame attempt to make me out `an abortionist-by-extension' falls into
the catagory of ridiculous.


Although I'm sure there is a segment of the population who would jump on your
silly notion and run with it, for no other reason than to `get over on'
someone they detest...my guess is nobody with an IQ higher than two digits
would consider your assertion valid.


I'd also like to point something else out to you....


In all the exchanges we've had on a variety of subjects, I've gone out of my
way to try to avoid throwing insults, or vile names at you. I've also avoided
making false accusations, or falsely painting you with any `broad brushes'.


I've simply stated my facts and figures to you as I find them, after I've
checked them for as great a degree of accuracy as I can, and allowed you to
form your own impressions and opinions on them.


I've tried to keep the exchange on the level of a `discussion', and not let it
fall into what could be called a `flame-war'. I'm sorry you aren't capable of
doing the same.


Recently, I saw a message from Ross Cassell in which he expressed regret at
allowing certain persons to post in this echo. My name was one of those he
mentioned.


I probably shouldn't do this, but I have to point out that its funny how dis-
agreeing with others on certain subjects (like abortion, homosexual marriage
....a few others) gets classified as `ranting'...or `bombast'. But supporting
things like the degradation of the time-proven institution of marriage between
a male and female, valid since the days of Adam and Eve....or doing surgical
procedures that result in the product illistrated in the photos coming out of
the Gosnell abortion clinic...is considered on-topic discussion!
