Hmmm ... last January I was in New York City visiting among other thing the
Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Someone who's never been there, I need to
advise visiting Ellis Island, one of the better museums worldwide telling the
story of immigrants. At times haunting even. I've been there at least 6-7 times
now.
 
However, Januay was a bummer. Both locations were only available on a limited
basis as a ressult of the hurricane Sandy destructive power and the 14' (that
is fourteen feet) waves that rolled over both islands. It destroyed all heating
for winter, all airconditioning for summer, all the foodstocks, all the
souvernir stocks, all the electronics and computers up to a regular second
floor, all private property of staff was destroyed, lockers with whatever, etc,
etc...
 
Such stormsurges of that magnitude in that area have never been recorded. It's
a common fact that storms are getting bigger and bigger.
 
I think there is some truth in your words about the rising of sealevels which
may be exagerated, although the changing weatherpatterns at the dramatic levels
which we are witnessing now, cannot be ignored.

Polar bears can perfectly live without ice, however they are part of an
ecosystem that is ice-based including seals, arctic foxes, whales, porpoises,
gannets, fulmar, and so many more. There's no saying what will happen when such
an ecosystem is destroyed, but one thing is certain: it will not be nice.
 
Polar bears have been known to mate already with grizzlies producing rather big
hybrid bears called Grolars. In the beginning it was considered unlikely but
too many have been shot in the meantime up north. It means that polar bears
have started to migrate south.
 
Now you can react in a typical brainless way like "Nothing a gun can't take
care of", but that is not the point. Climates "are" changing, weather patterns
"are" changing.
 
You may be in denial, but that's not my problem.
