Actually. the day I sent that I was having trouble with my desktop getting
InterNet access. It would go online and bring up my home page, but only
partially load it and hang!


After several hours of fooling around with it, I got out my laptop and went
online to get the new packet.


I keep my downloaded .qwk packets on a flash drive for the purposes of being
able to switch between laptop and desktop, AND to keep from losing my archives
in case of a hard-drive crash, which has happened before. The recovery of lost
archives is a long, painfull process. But switching from one to the other just
to get online is a bit of fooling around. So I couldn't just `shell out' from
my OLR to the InterNet connection to check.


Anyway, had I been able to immediately access the InterNet at the time I typed
that reply I'd have known for sure which was bigger; Niagra or Victoria (been
a long time since my school days). I just wasn't sure which, but I thought if
it were Victoria you'd jump in triumphantly with the correction!


Spent almost the entire day getting my desktop straightened out. Took a
restoration to  a couple of days previous (you can do that with an HP) to get
control back.


Also...while I was spending the day mucking about with the one computer
anyway, I took the time to get the laptop to work off the router and set it up
so I can just put the laptop on the kitchen table and get online without
having to fiddle around with the ethernet plug between the two computers. Just
push a small button on the router and the laptop has access to my ethernet
connection without having to play with the plugs.


So...I guess you could say that `you' are responsible for my having gotten
both computers to go online without all the nonsense I used to have to go
through to switch between the two when my desktop was giving me trouble.
