You and I are in the same boat, mine was merely speculation made on what
I know about it. However, the audacity of someone suggesting that the
parents be killed for something they had no control over, rings of
rediculousness and ignorance of that same person.

As do many other parents in these situations. Sometimes, like in the
shootings in CA last weekend, the parents don't think straight or they do
stupid things like hop in the car to drive 100 miles to stop them. It
would have been more prudent to call the police and let them handle it.
But, I suppose they were acting the way they did to protect their son from
suicide by police.

Like the CA incident, she wasn't thinking straight.

I've heard that too and if it was true, she shouldn't have been allowed to
have any firearms either. All that takes is for a doctor to report her to
the authorities and they'd get a court order to take them from her.

Like you, I've had some experience with mental patients and have found the
rare behavior of violence can be confronted with a threat of violence and
they're like melted chocolate in your hands. OTH, there are the isolated
incidents where their level of violence grows under that threat.
