Exactly the same applies to fidonet.org with Ward Dossche substituted for the
owner.

I see...  So now go to fidonet.us and click on "How to join Fidonet". Then
scroll down to the links on the bottom of the page and click on "FidoNews".

And you will find (among other things):

 DS> z1.fidonet.org
 DS> Official Site of FidoNet Zone 1 (Amerika)

America with a "k".

Indeed. Your error lies in assuming that the person who makes that claim is the
same as the owner of fidonet.org respectively fidonet.us.

Your assumption is wrong. In both cases the link to fidonews is an external
link that lands you on a page that is owned by someone else. In this case
fidonet.org. You can use "whois" to find out who the owner of fidonews.org is.
I can tell you it is not Thom LaCosta or Ward Dossche. And no, it is not Björn
Felten either.

I have never heard of that particular sensitivity, but I am not to old to
learn. Considering that in Germnan "Amerika" is spelled with a "k", I would
brush it off as a mere spelling error.

But ... if you are that easely annoyed...

     .... complain to the owner of fidonews.org.
