Nor is the FCC. Especially when it comes to those non type-accepted
Chinese radios.

Look at the labels! One will have a 'made in japan' label and the other
will have a 'made in china' label on it.

Icom, Kenwood, Yaesue and noe other (I believe) are Japanese manufactured
and will have a tag on them that is type accepted by the FCC.

Not exactly. When you buy any of the Japanese made radios, you get the
assurance that the product is Type Accepted by our FCC. It'l say so on the
product. Buy Chinese, you don't get that.

And so they raised their prices. If they had been making third-world
products that weren't as good as the USA made stuff, they wouldn't be
around today and companies like Collins, Drake, etc. would still be in
business.

You know that isn't true. We helped Europe get back on their feet as well
as we did Japan and China.

By 'American made' I'm assuming that you're not including that which is
made off-shore by our trading partners and imported for domestic resale on
other shores.

If such is true, you're not helping solve that problem by standing in your
hole and digging it even deeper.
