Sometimes it is necessary to say things that hurt - in a very
calculated way or deliberate manner to give offense.  Examples
can be found in the gospels - by Jesus himself.

If society does not take offense at things that are said
and done, then what does that say about the society one lives
in?

The Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. offended many by his words
and deeds.  And like Jesus, he paid dearly for his efforts.

Although the vast majority of his supporters were African
Americans, the real audience Dr. King (and other civil rights
advocates) was speaking to or addressing was white middle
class Americans.  He was telling, and showing, average
white Americans what was happening in real life to real people
every day in an America they had absolutely no idea existed.

The Good Doctor was gaming on white middle class Americans
having a conscience.  It cost him his life, as well as that
of other civil rights crusaders, but changed society for the
better.  And today we have a black president, something no
white American could have imagined possible in those days.

And now you know the truth as to why so many Republicans
are so upset and want to impeach Barack Obama.  They expected
the reincarnation of Martin Luther King, Jr. rather than the
hope and change they actually got.

Jesus chose his words wisely.  And look what it got him.
