No they don't. Its all about ignoring the rights of the people to keep and
bear arms.


Both Gifford and Brady are left-wing idiots who are riding a personal tragedy
like there's no tomorrow, trying to get guns taken away from everybody over
the actions of a few.

In Gifford's case, I'm surprised that shooting got as far as it did.


In Brady's case, the Secret Service should have been on its toes a little
better.


But...in either case...we all don't have our rights taken away over the
actions of one person.


Given that train of thought...we should have banned the use of private
aircraft over the deaths of Ricky Nelson...or the crash that killed all those
rock stars back in the sixties.


There are over 58,000 people killed every year in auto accidents. Maybe we
should have banned the automobile...or at least the private ownership and
possession of them right after the very first death in an automoble!


And not to mention the teenage deaths due to auto accidents each year. Maybe
we shouldn't allow anyone to own a motor vehicle until they're at least 40!

Just because you or anyone you know would panic and start spraying bullets all
over the place before you had identified the `target' and made sure your
gunfire wasn't going to go astray, doesn't mean everyone else is as
incompetent as you are.


Anyway....I didn't project myself into the scenario...that's your doing. I
just expressed surprise as I've lived in Arizona, been in Tuscon many times,
and people strolled along the streets with sidearms on their belts all the
time. Used to be pretty common.


In your usual way...you were going off in left field with some silly
supposition of yours. Not everyone is on the `nobody should have a gun'
bandwagon, Joe. And not everyone you know who OWNS firearms is someone who'd
just start spraying bullets about, either.


I've used firearms over the years for many things, including protecting myself
and preventing thefts that were in progress. And I've used firearms to help
law enforcement take armed individuals into custody...once in Arizona, and
once up in Northern Nevada.


We aren't all terrified of them, Joe. They are useful tools, like any other
useful tool.
