Yes, you can.  But you will never win the argument.

I once made the mistake of inviting one of my friends
from high school, a fellow named Jules, to go fishing.
We got on board my boat, right at sunrise, and set out
for a full day of fishing on the lake, and planned to
return by sunset to get home.  Jules liked to talk.
And talk.  And talk.  Non-stop.  About whatever subject
it made no difference.  And no matter what the subject,
Jules knew everything about that subject.  I tried
talking about sports.  Jules had all the answers.
I tried talking about religion.  Jules had all the
answers.  I tried talking about politics.  Jules
had all the answers.  I tried talking about women.
Jules had all the answers.  No matter what I said,
or what subject I brought up, not only did Jules
have all the answers but I was wrong and he was
always right.

We returned to the landing after spending the day
fishing, and I drove Jules back to his house.  Then
I reflected on the day and tried to figure out why
Jules was right about everything and I was always
wrong.  Could I possibly have been wrong about
everything?  Or was Jules a true genius - a true
genius who has yet to be discovered by the world?

A word about Jules and his occupation.  Jules is
a lawyer.  A well-known lawyer in his community.
Not only is he known by every lawyer in town, but
he is also known by every judge in the parish, as
well as in the state.  When other lawyers see
Jules headed to the courtroom, it is not "here
come the judge" that they are saying.

After blaming myself for having been so wrong,
I asked my friends if they had ever spent a day
fishing with Jules.  Yes, they told me.  They
too had made the same mistake.  They also told
me they never invited Jules to go fishing with
them a second time.

Jules is one of the most brilliant people I have
ever met.  He found a way to pay his way through
college in an amazing manner.  He somehow talked
his way into getting himself hired to drive a
school bus so that other students could get to
class.  I rode the bus one day with Jules as
the driver, just to see how well he did his job.
I was the ohly student on the bus.  And when
Jules opened his mouth, it never shut up - until
the bus reached its destination.

But I guess it was all my fault, as I had to
ask him what he thought about the new college
mascot.
