There are no `speed' traps in Louisiana.  We have bayous for that.
Other places have trees.  But Louisiana has bayous.  Drive too fast,
car or truck goes into bayou.  Then it is either sink or swim.

In Holland the Dutch are required by law to keep a sledgehammer
in their car at all times.  If you do not believe me, ask Michiel.
But even with sledgehammers, the Dutch continued to find new ways
to drown.

The Mississippi River has changed course thoughout the ages.
And so have the bayous, some of which have been the Mississippi
River.  But we know where the Mississippi River is today, and
where the bayous are today, even though they might be somewhere
else tomorrow.

Your method would never work in Alvin, Texas.  I drove through
that town late at night one time with a cop on my tail, and that
cop never forgave me for what I did.  On each block was a speed
limit sign, with a different speed limit at each sign.  Being
that I was completely sober, and fully awake, I decided to have
some fun.  Speed limit on block 1 was 45 mph, next speed limit
on block 2 was 25 mph, next speed limit on block 3 was 40 mph,
next speed limit on block 4 was 15 mph, etc.  I made sure I
drove the exact speed limit each block, and continuing through
town as if there was no cop behind me, while laughing my head
off as I could see in my rear view mirror the cop was not
amused, with the cop finally giving up in total frustration
and driving away in a different direction.

And then there was Dells, Texas.  That is a small town that
would never let me leave.  The layout of the entire town is
one-way streets.  With a population of only a few hundred
people.  It took me over three hours to drive throuth it,
having to go past every small store, business, court house,
etc., before I could continue moving on.

Who profits from the use of those cameras at red lights?  It is not the
cities, but rather the private companies that own the cameras.  The
excuse for using the cameras is `public safety' - but it has been shown
and proven that use of the cameras actually causes more accidents than
before.

It is better for cities and municipalities to hire more police officers
than to by lowering expenses by installing cameras at red lights.  The
increased revenue that private companies claim local governments will
have (or get) by using cameras as opposed to police officers enforcing
the laws is a lie.  It is all about money.  Who has it, and who gets it.
