i'm writing this in alpine that connects directly to my news server as well as
my main email server... i also have a config that connects to my yahoo and
gmail accounts as well as another internal mail server... pine/alpine configs
can be a bit wonky to figure out but once it is done, there's not much else
that needs to be done...

i can't blame you there... if i find a need to do that, i try to copy the
message to a special area but this is not able to be done on all systems... it
is one of the reasons why i like using TimED or similar sysop readers that
access the bbs message bases directly... they just can't be beat in options by
many bbs packages though some do really try hard to get there ;)
