While it is usually best to learn from the mistakes of others,
sometimes it is necessary to learn from one's own mistakes.
We have all been teenagers, once upon a time.  And we have all
done some rather dumb things.  Some of us still do.  And there
is a small handful who will never learn.  Not from others, or
from themselves.

I mean, some people are simply born stupid.  I can't fix stupid.
You can't fix stupid.  Nobody I know of can fix stupid.  But stupid
thinks he/she can fix stupid.  So my policy is to let stupid fix
stupid.

The problem with that approach is, stupids might wind up getting
us all killed, without really trying or meaning to.

And then there are crazies.  Which are more dangerous - stupids
or crazies?  Kind of hard to tell sometimes.  I mean, stupids
might get everybody killed by accident, but crazies might do it
on purpose.  But since most crazies are non-violent, at least
most of the time, I figure we can pretty much manage okay.  As
long as they stay on their meds, that is.

Of course, not all crazies are certified, or certifiable.
Some are just plum nuts.  You know the ones I am talking about.
Those who can talk the talk, but walk off the walk.  Best to
steer clear of them folks.  But by then it is usually too late,
as they seem to spot others long before being spotted themselves.

If I know I'm nuts, I can't be nuts.
If I know I'm not, I must be nuts.
If I think I'm nuts, I might be nuts.

Are we there yet?

The Face on Mars is a picture of who we were
and where we came from.  We are the descendants
of those who came here from that once green world.
