In the USA it used to be 21, then 18 (depending on state),
and now back to 21 (depending on state).  The reason why
drinking was lowered to 18 was due to the Vietnam War.
Kids were being drafted, sent to die in an unpopular war,
while being denied the right to vote.  And they could
not legally get drunk before being shipped overseas to
meet their Maker.  Most Americans thought that was wrong,
and sought to set things right.

So 18-year-olds got the right to vote.  And the right
to get drunk before they died.  And then President Nixon
found he was in big doo-doo, as there was an election
coming up.  And his opponent was calling to end the war,
and bring the boys back home.

So what did Nixon do?  Tricky Dick knew exactly what
to do.  He ended the draft.  That's right.  Not only
did he end the draft, but he issued an executive order
telling the boys in uniform that any soldier who did
not want to serve in Vietnam did not have to go.

Richard Nixon won his bid for re-election in a landslide.

Two years later he resigned from office in disgrace,
moved to NYC, and wrote his best-selling memoirs.

Children today have bigger boobs than children of the same
age in prior times.  Why?  Because of estrogen having been
introduced in the water supply.  The reason why this was
don was birth control.  People will always have sex.  And
that includes children.  Due to economic conditions, most
people in the civilized world choose to have only one (or
possibly two at most) children.  That is if they choose
to have children at all.  Also, fewer and fewer people
are choosing to marry.  And those who do, not necessarily
to someone of the opposite sex.

In times past, in all countries throughout the world,
people made as many babies as they could, starting as
young as they could.  Normal was for a girl to marry
at age 12 or 13, to a man of 50 or 60.  And then,
after her husband croaked, she got a house to live
in that she could call her own.  Still being a young
woman, she would then take on a lover, usually a
guy about twenty years her junior.  And this young
stud would gain experience in the ways of sex, so
that when it was time for him to marry (usually when
his lover croaked), his bride would be well-pleased,
as well as having a nice place to live.

Girls want to get out of their fathers house as
quickly as they can.  If they can do it without having
to fuck some guy, that would be great.  But if not, hey,
fucking an old fart wouldn't be too bad if he croaks
quickly enough.

What I am getting at is this -

Men marry for love.  Women marry for security.
A trade, so-to-speak.  A man seeks the love of a woman.
A women seeks the security of a man.

Of course, those roles are changing in today's world.
And even reversed, in some cases.  In some ways unimaginable.
