Ärende: The Man Who Would Be King

Hello Everybody,

Rudyard Kipling was one of the finest writers
of our time.  Make that one of the finest writers
of all time.  But he never ran across anyone the
likes of some particular characters found in fidonet.
Consider, for example, this apparently mad (insane
is a legal term which does not accurately reflect
true madness as it exists) sysop from one zone who
thinks he is a king of a country in another zone -

In a message dated 07-01-15, Carl Gustaf Folke Hubertu said to All:

It is Ross Cassell that is the root of the problem.
He creates node numbers at will.

He should know that Sweden is in Zone 2, not in Zone 1.

Nevertheless he has created the 1:18/3 address under his Region 18.
The address 1:18/3 didn't exist in the 2014 nodelists.

He has also previously sent these hate-messages from other nodes
registered in his name under Host 1:123/...

I happen to live in a country adjacent to Sweden and of course know that
our neighbour country doesn't have a king by the name he uses.

Of course Ross Cassell doesn't dare to send these messages under the
real name of the swedish king.

See there?  The man who would be king, if only he could, has
now been unmasked for who he is.  In Kipling's story, the man
who would be king lost his head, in the most literal of ways.
This wannabe king has apparently lost his own head long ago,
albeit it still remains physically attached to the rest of his
body.

Still not convinced this is the man who would be king?

Also:

The listing of 1:18/3 is technically incorrect. He is exploiting
a side effect of allowing "-Unpublished-" without "Pvt". That was
meant to allow IONs without Pvt. But this is not an ION, it is a
node without any contact info at all, so a true Pvt node. It
should carry the Pvt Keyword. Which is not allowed in the RIN
segment, so it should not be a RIN at all. Also, the CM flag makes
no sense for a Pvt node that can not be called anyway.

I brought this to the attention of the one in charge of overseeing
the job performance of the Z1 RCs, but she does not appear to be all
that interested in keeping the nodelist clean.

I wonder how that election goes, BTW. Last I saw they had 14 days of
nomination time, but wasted all but the last 12 hours on doing nothing.

After that they should have 14 days of campaigning/questioning. Did
they as usual waste all but the last 12 hours on doing nothing?
