We have done some tests on the IP-availability, Joe, and it's bad ... really
bad. The actual numbers of listed people is a gross multiple of the
participants. There's also dead wood here, true, but not in those proportions
... there are no placeholders here for example. When someone's gone, or dead,
then that peson gets removed ... no nonsense about "He will be back" ... we
know it doesn't work that way.

That is correct and has always been grossly out of proportion too. In the past
ZCs have voted a certain way because they were told to vote a certain way by
other ZCs, not having a clue themselves what was the matter.
 
Take the case of ZC4 Manuel, he seems a pretty nice guy doing interesting
things, but it is simply impossible to engage him in a discussion because he
has no clue about the language. If I want to exchange messages with him, it is
via GoogleTranslate to spanish before sending anything.
 
That zone is lifeless and though Renato or someone else may pop-up, there's
nothing going on ... and Z4C simply votes the way he is told to vote.

"Size", Joe, "size" ... it does matter. It's not going to happen (anymore I
guess) but when you hold 80% of the critical mass then it matters very little
what the other 20% decide. Z1 Z3 Z4 may decide whatever they want, and such a
statement may not be liked, but unless Z2 walks alongside, things won't happen.
That's also <period>.
 
To preserve the unity I have tried, and continue to try, to walk with the FTSC.
I'm the only ZC by the way who has publicly announced to do so.

With the difference that they have made their equivalent of our IC-function not
useless. Fidonet right now is an anarchy which cannot be regulated.
 
Eventually Z1 will expire with 10 empty regions but full of place-holders.
