Hitler took office through legal means.  Once he had attained
power, he did everything under the sun, the moon, and the stars
to remain in power.  That is what dictators do.  Whether on a
large scale, or a tiny scale.  It is always the same.

It is not an elist/echolist that is evil.  It is the misuse or
abuse of an elist/echolist that is evil.  Just as government is
not evil, but rather a force that can be used for good or for
evil.

Anarchy rules.  That is the only real path to freedom.

Work for who?  Those who seek control?  Control over who or
what?  In a free and open society (in this case, the society
of fidonet), there can be no such imposition of control.
That would be a contradiction in terms.

Who is going to decide what echoes?  Not just what echoes become
echoes, but also what echoes are to get distributed?  Why would
sysops allow somebody else to control what sysops themselves should
control?

As it is now, individual sysops (in zone 1) have chosen to give
up their own freedom in order to become slaves of the Z1C.  There
is a way out of it, as sysops can easily regain their freedom by
removing those chains of bondage.  Especially since the sysops
themselves hold the key.

Nowhere.  It is a fiction.  Not part of fidonet at all.

In the beginning, Tom Jennings had a notebook.  And a pencil.
One day, he and a small handful of sysops started doodling in
their notebooks and a list was made.  Some kind of grocery
list, or so everybody thought ...

Sysops have all the freedom in the world, yet have chosen
to remain inactive in regards to promoting this network.

Dismantle the apparatus that is being used as a means of
misusing and abusing tools such as elists/echolists for their

Play an active part in promoting this network.  Not a passive
role that means absolutely nothing to anybody.

Be a somebody.  Not a nobody.

Stand up and be counted.

That is what every sysop should encourage interested parties to do.

That is where you come in.  While some moderators are sysops,
not all moderators are so lucky.  By having a good relationship
with the sysop who is being so kind so as to allow you to use
his/her system, a moderator can ask his friendly sysop to do
another kindness by promoting the echo throughout the rest of
the fidoworld ...

A moderator owns the echo he/she moderates.  Regardless of how
many elists/echolists are created by others.  The only moderator
that sysops should recognize is the official moderator of an
echo.  Not any "elisted" moderator of an echo.

If you buy, or are given, a car, you own that car.  If someone
tells you they own that car because you failed to "update" the
elisting of that car, are you going to give that someone your
car?  Of course not!  Only a fool would do that!

Now you understand it is all a con job.  That's all.  Just a con.
Nothing more, nothing less.  Michiel van der Vlist and the entire
European contingent walked away from elistings long ago.  It is
time everybody else does, too.

What is this thing about "tags"?  I remember playing a game
called "tag" when I was a kid.  "Tag, your it!" oh what a fun
