Be that as it may, given her reply it is obvious she holds
the last election results as invalid, and as such nominations
have been re-opened.  That means that each and every zone
coordinator has automatically resigned his/her position, thus
making themselves available for the IC position.

The winning candidate will get to make his/her own appointments
pertaining to the other zones, as is fidonet tradition.

With four zone coordinators, it could be an interesting election.
Does not have to be unanimous.  A majority of those voting is all
it takes to win.  3 votes, if all 4 vote.  2 votes, if only 3 vote.
1 vote could block, if only 2 decide to participate.  1 vote could
win if nobody else decides to play.

Let's see what happens.

All four candidates are automatically nominated for the position,
as nominations need not be seconded.  No other candidates can be
nominated, given the rules as stated in both P4 and in echopol1.

If nobody chooses to vote, a winner will be declared by me.
The winner in that situation need only be a current fidonet
sysop (which rules me out for said position).

Be careful what you wish for.  The zone coordinators might
choose not to vote and let you win by default ...

Fidonet has its own international criminal court, comprised
of the sysops themselves, policing their own actions.

This is done by removing themselves from fidonet, rather
than locking somebody up.  The (guilty) sysops wind up judging
themselves, without even realizing what they do.

It's kind of fun to watch.  But first you have to know
what you are watching.  Otherwise, it might not make much
sense.  Or maybe none at all.
