We are all "socialists", whether we want to admit it or not.
Who do we choose to share our wealth with?  That is the question.
Do we choose to share our wealth freely with everyone?  Or just
a select few?

That is only true if the goal is towards the common good for
the entire society.  However, socialism for the common good
of a select few is the goal of others.  This "solidarity" you
speak of thus becomes a question of solidarity for whom?

What happens if only the wealthiest elite are able to participate
in economic activity?  What happens to progress?  Is progress even
possible?  Would the world be a better place if the vast majority
of the world's poor were to suddenly drop dead?  I guarantee some
other group would quickly replace the poor as being the new poor
of the world.

Extreme selfishness run amok.  That is what we have today.
Wrapped inside the guise of what is called "austerity".  We
are told by politicians that budgets must be cut, else it
will be disaster for all.  But who is suffering?  Certainly
not the wealthy, as their own personal economies continue
to grow by leaps and bounds.

Point is, the rich will continue to get richer, and the poor will
continue to get poorer, for as long as man continues to walk this
earth.

The economy is for the person.  Not the other way around.  But
the wealthy would like you (and all the world's poor) to believe
otherwise.

Those who benefit most from the system should pay more.  But
they don't.  The fact of the matter is, those who benefit most
from the system pay the least.  Some not at all.

You know what the annual cost is for food stamps and financial
assistance for families with dependent children?  Five fighter
jets.  And yet when the budget gets cut, guess which item(s)
are on the chopping block?  Not the fighter jets ...

Mitt Romney is proud of the fact he is a master tax dodger.
His political party was so proud of him that it nominated him
for president.  But for some unknown reason, the American
people turned their back on him and chose somebody else to
lead this great country of ours.

And now the very same political party that nominated Mitt
Romney for president is about to nominate an even wealthier
businessman (I will not say tax dodger) Donald Trump ...

Leninism, Stalinism, Kruschevism, Brezhnevism, Gorbachevism,
Yeltsinism, Putinism ...

Nazism was a personality cult, centered around Adolf Hitler.
Should Nazism be called Hitlerism?  Kind of silly, isn't it?
And yet, he was a national socialist.  Oh what a term.  Not
really a fascist at all.  Benito Mussolini owned that one.

And then there was Chairman Mao.  The greatest Chinese poet
of all time.  Next to Confucius.

Of course we must all remember El Comandante.  Such a nice guy.
Spends all his days playing games with the nurses while his brother
attends to business ...

Every country in the world is "socialist" by definition.
Government collects taxes and spreads the wealth accordingly,
in terms of goods and services.  It is only a matter of who
in society gets those goods and services.

Huey P. Long wrote a song entitled "Every Man a King".  He was
planning to run for president against FDR on a populist platform
of "Share the Wealth" - but met an untimely demise in 1935.

Today we have a new Huey P. Long running for president, his
platform being one of hatred and xenophopia towards immigrants.
But this is a screwed up version of populism, more like Benito
Mussolini's fascism, but with a smile ...
