Abuse of the echolist is obvious, as shown by those two examples
above.  Björn Felten caused Ross Cassell to do what he did?  Björn
Felten caused Roger Nelson to do what he did?  Who exactly was it
that abused the echolist?  It sure as hell was not Björn Felten.

Since when is a moderator obliged to elist his/her own echo
on somebody's private echolist?  Since when is a moderator obliged
to "update" his/her own echo on somebody's private echolist?
Who writes the fucking rules to tell moderators what to do with
their own echoes?

After Frank Vest handed the keys of the kingdom over to Björn
Felten (Fidonews echo), Björn Felten elisted the Fidonews echo
on the echolist.  I guess you can call that an "update" since
the Fidonews echo was already elisted on the echolist.  Björn
Felten has never handed the keys of the kingdom over to anybody
else since becoming master and lord of the universe.  Therefore,
there was no need for Björn Felten (or anybody else) to "update"
the elist/echolist.

In regards to the FN_SYSOP echo, I have already explained to
you the moderator (Björn Felten) was freely elected by the
sysops of the echo, in due accordance with the stated rules.

It was Ross Cassell's choice to abuse the echolist.
It was Roger Nelson's choice to abuse the echolist.
Neither individual is, or has ever been, moderator
of the Fidonews echo or the FN_SYSOP echo.

You are implying that it is.  Otherwise, you would not have
made the comments above blaming moderators for abusing it.

The echolist is a form of control, used by those who seek to exert
power over others.  It is not moderators who seek such power, but
those who control the echolist.

The current "Echolist Keeper" says he deletes entries
that he finds frivolous or not acceptable to him, and then
sends the rest to Ross Cassell for approval/disapproval.

It's all in the Z1C echo for all to read (you think silly
rules will keep folks from snooping on what y'all write?).

I can't say I blame Thom LaCosta for quitting, as I am
sure he had more important things to do.  Like having a life.

The newbie seems to enjoy his editing job, with Ross teaching
him the skills necessary to take over once his apprenticeship
days/weeks/months/years/decades are completed.

It took Thom a few years to figure it all out, but once he
did he left for greener pastures.  Maybe Ben will figure things
out sooner than Thom.  I don't know.  And I really don't care.

The echolist is just as much a joke today as it always has been.
I do not expect that to change anytime soon.  Make that never.
