A Mad Hatter spewed a bit of nonsense to a Flying Dutchman -

It's called freedom.  Over here in the US there is a practice,
one that I don't agree with never the less, is protected by
the US Constitution.  That practice is burning the US Flag.
Probably 95% /HATE/ that fact but guess what, it's part of
free speech and the freedom of choice to do it. It is protected.
That being said, as long as Bob offeres two separate feeds and
allowing his links to choose, then those many you feel he is
doing wrong are shit out of luck till the time he only offers
only one censored feed. Then I got your back.

The Mad Hatter seems to have forgotten the First Amendment
to the US Constitution.  The amendment that includes the phrase
"freedom of speech".  Very strange logic, how censorship becomes
a constitutionally protected freedom of speech.  But then, I'm
not mad.  Or am I?

The Mad Hatter makes another strange claim -

The Mad Hatter fails to realize that burning the US Flag is
showing proper respect, being the preferred method to honorably
destroy an old, worn-out, US Flag that is no longer suitable to
be used in service.

I did it myself, years ago, when I was in the Boy Scouts.
And I was not the only one.  Several of us did it.  In unison.
Several of us held out the flag while another trooper lit the
match.  Worked like a charm.

Can't do that any more.  Not with today's flags.  All are
fireproof, made in China.  The one we burned was 100% cotton.
With 48 stars, and 13 stripes.  The Scoutmaster was not amused,
being a WWII veteran, seeing his flag going up in flames.  But
he forgave us, eventually.  After shouting lots of words we
never knew existed.

Anyway ...

It makes no difference if there is "only one censored feed"
or many censored feeds.  Censorship is censorship.  Removing
a portion of fidonet makes it non-fidonet.  Any fidonet sysop
who does such a thing can no longer be regarded as a fidonet
sysop.

In addition, those sysops who have chosen to use the censored
feeds can no longer be regarded as fidonet sysops, due to the
very fact they have chosen not to use a fidonet feed.

IOW, a fidonet feed cannot be considered as being a fidonet
feed unless that feed is uncensored.  Any sysop who offers a
censored fidonet feed can never be trusted to be a member in
good standing with the fidonet community, as that sysop has
turned his/her back on at least one of his/her own.
