Alexander,

Truth be told, history is always revised by the winner.  My Grandmother was
Italian.  Her family relocated to America during WWII.  She had some very
different memories of Mussolini before he got involved with Nazi Germany.  Her
dad actually worked for Mussolini and she had memories of him buying her
Gelatto in the 1930's when she was a child.

No one knows the actual history unless you lived through it to recall it.
Grandma also told us during WWII Russia was more of an Ally to America than
even Britain was.  She said if it wasn't for Russia occupying Hitler on the
eastern front that Britain would have fell.  Russia sapped much of the strength
from the Nazi's that they could have used to take out Britian.

Who knows, if diplomacy were carried out a little better where we would be
today?  We probably could have avoided the cold war.

It was all about world power... war is ugly... and I firmly believe that there
are many dirty secrets about the war... MANY and we won't know them all for
many years, possibly more than a hundred, until after the war is over.
