Hello Everybody,

Dictator Allen, a make-believe tyrant in the Fidoverse, made
a plea to a humble sysop by the name of Björn Felten -

I don't know what or who this is a dig at... I hope not me.  I have
never defamed you, I have never lied about you, if I insulted you in
jest and it hurt your feelings I humbly apologize but I rarely do
anything like that without making it clear it's a joke.  I may be in
Zone 1, but I have -always- had an equal, if not more friends outside
of Z1 than whithin Z1.  I feel that I am balanced and unbiased.

I know you are going through a hard time with grief and I hope and
pray that you are just lashing out, perhaps after my term is over and
the next election rolls around you will be in a better place to run
again, I don't know.  All I know is that I have tough shoes to fill
and I know you were a capable moderator.

What I don't understand is why you didn't oppose me in the election?
I'm hoping because it is, as you once said held me in as high respected
regard as I do you.  I truly hope you feel confident in my abilities to
do the job while you take a well deserved break from things.  I am
certain you are burdened with real life matters right now.

My ONLY hope is that you will be there if I need your counsel...
I hope you will remain -my- friend in Z2 and that will not change...
I hope you know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers for
your losses... and I hope you know that I truly want to do the best
thing for this echo and fidonet.

Please Bjorn, I would like your -blessing- with the handover not some
snarky comment about a "mickey mouse hat."  I am -anything- but just
another Z1 Lackey.  I see my absence and return to fidonet as objective
as it puts me in the unique position of NOT taking sides over what has
happened in the past 8 years.

Yes I have many friends in Z1... Yes I have friends in Z2 and I'm
meeting awesome people like Paul in Z3 and now we have Z4 with Flavio
coming alive.

I do not play favorites... I am going to do everything in my power
to do what I can to unite.  After all yes we are different, but we
have many reasons that we are more alike than different.  Whatever
comes Bjorn know I wish you the best and am here to serve not rule.

first decree as being to limit the FN_SYSOP echo as being a SYSOP
ONLY echo - with non-sysops not allowed to either read or write
messages?

If Dictator Allen was not a Z1 Lackey, then why did he demand
every sysop AROUND THE WORLD to limit read/write access to SYSOPS
ONLY?

A Kiwi living in the Land of Oz is openy defying Dictator Allen's
misrule.  Who else will join him?  I most certainly am, as can
plainly be seen.

What is Dictator Allen trying to hide?  Why is Dictator Allen not
willing to allow ALL to play in the pigpen known as the FN_SYSOP
echo?  And it is a pigpen, in the truest sense of the word.

Dictator Allen claims he has never defamed Björn Felten.  In
actuality, Dictator Allen has defamed everybody - sysops and
non-sysops alike - by severely limiting read/write access to
the FN_SYSOP echo to sysops only.

How dare any sysop tell another sysop how to run his own board!

Dictator Allen has made a dig not just at sysops, but also
non-sysops.  He has shown absolutely no respect for anybody,
including himself.

Where is Dictator Allen's self respect?  So far, he has shown
none.

"Who we are looking for is who is looking." ~ St. Francis of Assissi

It is impossible to find what is not there.

Respect is not something that is given.  It must be earned.
But first, one has to understand what respect is.

Dictator Allen wants to compel others to bow before him and obey
his every command.  But who is listening?  Certainly not me.  And
others are openly defying his misrule.  So what real respect does
he have?  None.  None at all.

respect yourself.  Only by that, only by self-respect will you
compel others to respect you." ~ Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Alexander K., the great Russian philosopher of Fidonet, can explain
more fully what Dostoyevsky meant by those words of wisdom.

Dictator Allen claims he is unbiased, yet he has issued the most
biased decree one can possibly imagine - excluding all non-sysops
from playing in his pigpen.  He also claims that he never bothers
to apologize for anything, as his decrees are always perfect.

No appeal to sympathy will get any votes from Björn Felten.  Nor
will it get any votes from me, or any other person who believes in
freedom.  Those who push for censorship will be called on it, and
taken to task.

Why did Björn Felten choose to sit on the sidelines rather than
seek glory and fame as moderator of a chat echo?  Because he had
other, better things to do with his time.  And time is the most
valuable commodity one has.  Best to spend it wisely, rather
than foolishly.  Especially since once you spend it, it ain't
coming back.

Dictator Allen has asked the godfather, Don Felten, for his blessing.
As such, the noble Swede should grant him at least that much.  And you
know what that means -

Dictator Allen has to consume Sweden's favorite dish - Lutefisk.
