That's too bad. Ztree is a great file manipulator. It is easily the best
thing I've found for changing attributes, changing hidden to seeable,
changiing read-only to editable, changing dates, hex editing, etc. Copying
files to different folders and making a folder to receive files if there
isn't one at the destination.

This was the program that introduced me to 'read only, hidden' files. My
first move was to change all of those file RASH attributes on such files
as MSDOS.SYS and such and deleting them on my first PC-286. I found out
very quickly that in doing so, I just deleted the files used by MSDOS 3.3
to run the system. 8^)

I'll bet the tech who reinstalled those files under warranty was laughing
his ass off at the novice who deleted them. That was 1986 and we've come a
long way together, Xtree, Ztree and I.

I wouldn't trust Norton with doing anything with my computers. I was in
too much of a hurry to get XP working the way I wanted it and overlooked a
check box that said, intall Norton antivirus yes/no...had I paid attention
it woulddn't have been installed. I'll have to go back and remove it when
I get XP and other software and hardware working the way I want it.

Microsoft's version of malware and antivirus software works so much
better.

I've found that any kind of *nix isn't worth my time. OS/2 was a real
pain, Red Hat was too. I bought a cheap desktop (really slow AMD
processor) that had a version of *nix on it that was workable, but I NIXed
that and installed W98 on it. That slug-machine will get the W2k drive
once I get around to fixing it. Two slugs working together should make for
a really happy system.
