Wrong answer.

First of all, the FN_SYSOP echo is a general chat echo, open to
everyone.  It is not reserved for "sysops only" as per your claim.
There is also no moderator, or any stated rules.

You do not even know what FidoNet is, or what is its purpose -

You seem to have left out the users part of the equation.
Why is that?  Do you not realize what FidoNet is, and what
is the purpose of FidoNet?  Tom Jennings summed it all up
quite nicely in the above quote.

Seems like Richard understands perfectly well what Tom Jennings
stated so long ago -

"... each sysop runs their system in any way they please, for
any reason they want." ~Tom Jennings

Nothing about moderators in quotes by either Jennings or Menedetter.
Why is that?  Because moderators are inconsequential, and not part of
the equation.

All sysops should offer assistance to non-sysops wanting to become
sysops.  Or at least be willing to do so, if able.  But no individual
should be compelled to become a sysop, as FidoNet is supposed to be
a *free* association of sysops around the world, a network that
welcomes users within its ranks, never condemns.

You have totally missed the boat.  Read Frank Vest's guest editorial
in the most recent issue of the Fidonews.  And then maybe, just maybe,
you will begin to understand.

What is the purpose of being a sysop without users?  Don't you think
that would be quite selfish?  FidoNet is a worldwide amateur computer
network that is used as a means of communication for the transmission
of messages and files between individuals and bulletin board systems.
One does not have to be a sysop in order to use that network.

If you want to do something positive, eliminate the anti-democratic
rhetoric and start promoting pro-democratic ideas.  Such as allowing
read/write access for ALL, in every general chat echo, including the
FN_SYSOP echo.
