Reality?  Wazzat?  In a world that only Donald Trump could
have imagined, I hardly know what is real and what is not ...

It takes money to go to Georgetown.  A lot of money.  Or a really
good talent for playing basketball.  But only if you are a guy.
Gals can get in another way.  But they keep it a secret so others
won't know.

What are "Catholic principles and teachings"?

One of my classmates in high school decided she wanted to become
a nun.  So she entered a convent and began her studies.  Took the
whole course.  After she completed her training, she was set to
take her final vows.  And then, at the last moment, she backed out.
Why?  Because she could not in good conscience agree to obey those
vows.

For a woman to become a nun, she must give herself entirely to
the man who requests her to make the vow.  In other words, she
becomes the property of the priest to whom she serves.

Not to God, or to God's Holy Church, but to the fucking priest.

Would you like me to quote the exact words of the vow a woman
makes to become a nun?  I can do that.

The reason why she chose to enter the nunnery was because
her boyfriend had decided to become a priest.  The two of them
had been high school sweethearts, but broke up at graduation
when he told her his future plans.

At least he didn't chicken out like Jerry Brown when it came
time to take his final vows.  But maybe that is a good thing.
Can you imagine what the world would be like if Jerry Brown
became pope rather than Francis?

The courts ruled against the provision, so the issue is moot.

Nancy Pelosi is a practicing Catholic.  And a politician.
Joe Biden is a practicing Catholic.  And a politician.
Jeb Bush is a practicing Catholic.  And a politician.
Tim Kaine is a practicing Catholic.  And a politician.

That's showbiz!

Politicians of all stripes seek to get the most free publicity
they can, even if it is bad, because it keeps their cause in the
public limelight.  Can you blame Pelosi for what she did?  Can
you blame Boehner?  Or Ryan?  Or any other politician?

Grandstanding is something politicians do well.  Whether they
wear a blue hat, or a red hat, or a green hat doesn't really matter.
Sometimes they even change hats.  Depending on the light of day.
Or time of night.
