Hello Everybody,

Colin Kaepernick, quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers
football team, decided to stand down rather than stand up
as the American flag was being raised during the playing
of the national anthem.  This was his way of showing his
pride for black folks, and disdain for whitey.

When asked about his lack of respect for the American
flag and what it stands for, this is what Kaepernick told
the interviewer -

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for
a country that oppresses Black people and people of color.
To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish
on my part to look the other way.  There are bodies in the
street and people getting paid leave and getting away with
murder."

One would think the coach would sit his quarterback out
for the next game, right?  Not gonna happen.  You know why?
The 49ers orgainization actually *endorsed* his comments,
by issuing the following statement -

"The national anthem is and always will be a special part
of the pre-game ceremony.  It is an opportunity to honor our
country and reflect on the great liberties we are afforded
as its citizens.  In respecting such American principles as
freedom of religion and freedom of expression, we recognize
the rightof an individual to choose to participate, or not,
in our celebration of the national anthem."

Lemme see if I got this right -

Colin Kaepernick signed a 6 year, $114,000,000 contract
with the San Francisco 49ers, including a $12,328,766 bonus,
$61,000,000 guaranteed, which works out to an average annual
salary of $19,000,000.

That means, in 2015, Colin Kaepernick will have earned a
base salary of $10,400,000, a roster bonus of $2,000,000 and
a workout bonus of $400,000.

THAT IS HOW MUCH THIS COUNTRY OPPRESSES PEOPLE OF COLOR.

Talk about the Land of Opportunity.  Maybe Colin Kaepernick
should consider giving that $114 million of his to black folk
he thinks are truly oppressed ...
