I thought drinking on the job was against the rules?  OTOH, after
the sewer blew up everybody must have needed a drink.  Or two.  Or
three ...

We used to do that as kids on a hot summer day.  But nothing like
a whole city block.  Just one or two manhole covers was enough for us.

Start growing water hyacinths to clean up the mess.  They will clear
out the algae in a matter of no time at all.  And leave the water
crystal clear.

Forget science.  Let Mother Nature cure the water.  I already
told you how.  Will only take a few water hyacinths, as they multiply
quickly.  Just like rabbits.  And best of all, they never need to be
fed.  The algae is all the food they need.  Trust me.  Cajuns know
this, having had the same experience years ago.

Once the ground begins to rot you are all out of luck.  Better
get those water hyacinths into your river before it is too late ...
