on the contrary... you can be killed by 1000 volts at 1 amp of current just as
easily as with 1 volt at 1000 amps of current...

  V = I * R   voltage = current times resistance
  I = V / R   current = voltage divided by resistance
  R = V / I   resistance = voltage divided by current


1000 volts = 1    amps * 1000.0 ohms
1    volts = 1000 amps *    0.001 ohms


power, BTW, is measured in watts...

  P = V * I   power = voltage times current

in both cases above, 1000v * 1a and 1v times 1000a, the result is 1000 watts...
the real kicker is the resistance... if there's less than what is calculated,
then there's a problem...

regarding my statement above about someone being killed, the human body's
electrical resistance varies from person to person, from moment to moment... in
dry conditions, the human body may provide upwards of 100000 ohms of
resistance... in wet conditions (damaged or broken skin), the resistance may be
as low as 1000 ohms or less... the lower the resistance, the faster and
stronger the power... more power means more heat which leads to more breakdown
of resistance which could eventually lead to a bright flash and a loud pop or
boom...
