You do not know the level of stupidity some Americans will go
through to do what is otherwise impossible for any other human
being on this planet to do.  Remember, you are talking about
people who sometimes try to go over Niagara Falls in a wooden
barrel.  Once in a long while, one of them actually survives
to tell the tale.

A few years ago, the stupidity of going over Niagara Falls in
a wooden barrel was taken to a new level.  One lucky survivor
found a way to make a fortune by doing an encore.  Only instead
of doing it in secret, away from prying eyes, he made himself
a public spectacle, charging admission at the Astrodome in
Houston, Texas.  So there he was.  At the top of the dome, all
huddled inside that itsy bitsy wooden barrel of his, with a
capacity crowd waiting for the big moment.  And then it happened.
The wooden barrel was dropped, with contents inside, into a
small puddle of water on the field below.

I am not sure if he was wearing a crash helmet.  Not that it
mattered.  Both the barrel, and himself, went <SPLAT!> upon impact.

Talk about suicide in front of a live audience.  It's too bad
youtube was not around back then.  His act would have gone viral
for sure.

The death in a barrel act in the Astrodome is well documented.  You
really do not know the depths of what certain idiots are capable
of doing, and will do given the opportunity.  It is a mentality that
only they themselves can understand.

Trying to comprehend that mentality is very difficult, if not
impossible, for others.  I gave up trying years ago.  I suggest
you do the same, and just accept some things as being a given.

Even if it makes no sense.
