RW>> chili - ground beef and chili peppers or chili powder often with

DS> Irrelevant on both counts. There is a country called Chile, but in

LOL! Had you given yourself the chance to actually study the different
spelling of a country vs a pepper, you would know that a chili pepper is
not called a chile pepper, in any sense of the word.

Here's a chance to really educate yourself: go to your local supermarket,
make a list of brands of chili that call their product 'chile' and another
list of brands that call it chili. Post your lists here for all to see.

Meanwhile, the word is chili and it is meant to be spelled and is spelled
chili by every major source of products made with peppers, who spell the
word 'chili' and not chile...

DS> As I said before, if you had bothered to look you would have known
 DS> that.

That shoe leather must be getting awfully tasty by now.

DS>> If you are going to cast a criticism, you should at least know what
 DS>> you are talking about.

RW>> LOL! Sure, open mouth, insert foot and be like you?

DS> You've inserted foot quite well all by yourself. It is clear that
DS> you looked at nothing but the subject line

Wrong...I look at every recipe that involves the use of chili peppers,
even if the moron who writes the subject line with Chile #xxxx...

Basically because I'm interested in the recipe, not how that moron spells
the word.

DS> (BTW -- first letter in a subject line is usually capitalized,

Is it? See the spelling of the word in the subject line above. (I haven't
changed it)

DS> just like the first word of a sentence is).

Different scenario...you being a decendent with an English surname should
know better.

DS> You made the erroneous assumption that he was talking solely about
 DS> chili.

There is no other kind of chili...ask the people who produce the product
called chili that is on the shelves of every supermarket and mom&pop
market in the country. Or look at various lists of chili peppers...

DS> That might have been possible since he is a well known chili cook and
DS> judge. But that assumption of yours was not true and is not what the
 DS> subject line says.

Wrong...chili is chili, while chile is just a substitute used by people
who don't know the difference. You for instance.

DS> FYI, here are the last ten titles of recipes:
 DS> Title: Salsa Roja
DS> Title: Green Bell Pepper Jelly
 DS> Title: Those Lemon Bars
DS> Title: Italian Pickled Raw Eggplant
 DS> Title: Mexican Chicken Skillet
 DS> Title: Basic Green Sauce

None of these are called 'chili'...but they probably have chili' in them.

 DS> Title: Stuffed Green Pepper

Not in the chili family.

 DS> Title: Cal-Tex Chilli Spice

This one also has chili spelled incorrectly, so there's another moron who
can't get it right.

DS> Title: Grilled Chicken W/Red Chile Gravy (Microwave)

Wrong spelling. Let me know how you get country into the pot.

DS> Title: "Do That Salsa" Omelette

DS> Pray tell us all, which of those did you think were chili,

Only those that I pointed out as a real chili. The last 'salsa' omelette
for instance, probably has chili' in it, as in jalapeno...which is a chili
and not to be confused with the country.

DS> as in ground beef and chili peppers or chili powder often with
DS> tomatoes and kidney beans. The answer is that you either did not
DS> look at any of them, or you really are just trying to pick a fight
DS> without caring about the true situation.

Merely pointing out that chile is not chili...anybody who claims otherwise
is a moron, like you.

 RW>> That'll never happen...

DS> You've stuck your foot in it twice in this thread. What are you
DS> going to do for an encore?

I'd like to help you remove both feet from yours, but I've got bigger
chili' to roast.

                R\%/itt

PS - if you want to know more about the origin of the word and how to
spell and pronounce it, do a google for 'Nahuatl' the originators of such
words as "avocado", "chayote", "chili", "chocolate", "atlatl", "coyote",
"axolotl" and "tomato", now borrowed into Mexican Spanish.
