You can't do that from ignorance in the way it works...worldwide

You're completely ignoring the ISO specs that your DIN has accepted as how
it's done in the EU, which is in compliance with the rest of the world.

[valid VINs] - real German cars have VIN plates on the firewall, under the
               hood. Japanese cars have them on the dash.

Hate to say it, but you're misinformed and couldn't be any moreso with
your denials of the facts.

I believe what I know to be the facts. You're wrong and the above BMW
VIN proves it.

I believe what I can see from the accident-totaled 735 sitting at my
friend Bob Flugrath's towing yard. BTW, Nancy's BMW shows the same kind of
VIN...

Note that even though the tag says that it meets US vehicle safety specs,
it also says (and this can be varified by decoding the VIN) that these two
cars were "made in Germany"...if you have a bar code reader, that can also
be used to varify the VIN...

PS - V means 1997 model and W means 1998 model...which coincides with the
month and date found at the top of the plate

PSS - the weight of the 318 is profoundly over weight for a compact car,
as is the weight of the 540 lux sedan. No wonder these cars cost so much,
shipping costs by weight must be the cause of that.

PSSS - also note that the VIN examples at the top of the page show that a
BMW made in Spartanburg, SC (USA) begins with a 4, which is as I outlined
a few days ago.

PSSSS - here's a link to a Mercedes Benz VIN made in Germany, but now
