I never thought any such thing. Urea is certainly in urine, but is generally
made synthetically.

At present, there is no such regulation or law here, nor have I read of one in
the making. I assume you're once again equating American conditions with those
in the entire world.

Maybe the diesels they make in the States. They have much more experience with
automotive diesels here.

It would help if you had actually read the German Wikepedia article on the VIN
I originally mentioned.

I'll quote two passages, and translate them for you.

"Europäische FIN ab 1981

Die Fahrzeug-Identnummer wird in Europa nach der Richtlinie 76/114/EWG
vergeben. Diese Richtlinie wird jedoch gemäá der VO (EG) Nr. 661/2009 mit
Wirkung vom 1. November 2014 aufgehoben. Sie wird durch die VO (EU) 19/2011
ersetzt, die sich hinsichtlich der Beschreibung des Aufbaus der FIN gegenüber
der 76/114/EWG nicht unterscheidet."

The whole world is NOT identical to the States, Roy. Never has been, never will
be. And you should inform yourself about the situations in other countries
before simply assuming American rules and laws apply everywhere.
