yeah, i would likely have been better off trying to dig the limitations out of
some BBS docs that support the HMB... instead i went for the structures in the
MKSMG package...

interesting... the code i have here defines the message numbers as WORD in
MSGINFO.BBS, MSGIDX.BBS and MSGHDR.BBS... i've not dug in real deep to see if
the code itself has placed specific catches on these for error messages...

i may have miscounted but based on the structures as denoted above, i don't
think so... but yes, you are right... i know i have this stuff written down
around here, too... i just didn't look hard enough, i guess :/
