Ärende: Japanese Common Sense
=============================
Hello Ward,
LL>> Just because a handful of Japanese military men got carried away
LL>> does not mean that an entire people was at fault.
WD>Hundreds of thousands of Japanese soldiers participated in the
WD>murder of a fair share of the Chinese population. Willingly ... they
WD>kept score, had killing competitions to see who could kill the most
WD>which was daily reported upon by Japanese newspapers.
Special Olympics. For Asians only. Where real heads roll.
Not wanting to take part in the festivities, the poet Mao Tse-Tung
took to the hills and wrote his little red book ...
WD>Japanese-Chinese relations are still affected by it, the Turks are
WD>still denying having murdered over one million Kurds despite proof
WD>staring them in the eyes ... while the countries of Israel and
WD>Germany have come to terms.
If you want to learn about Chinese history, read "San Min Chu I
(The Three Principles of the People)" by Dr. Sun Yat-sen. It should
be required reading by all who are not Chinese, or by at least those
who wish to acquire a basic understanding of how the Chinese were
exploited by foreign powers.
The three principles, according to Dr. Sun Yat-sen, are -
1. The Principle of Nationalism
2. The Principle of Democracy
3. The Principle of Livelihood
Oh. I'm sorry. We were talking about Japanese, not Chinese.
Well, to be honest, it is all the same, Japanese being descendants
of Chinese, but saved from the Khan by typhoons.
LL>> And lets not forget
LL>> what we did to innocent Japanese citizens, nuking TWO of their cities -
LL>> just because we could.
WD>I'm not "we" ...
You invaded the Congo. We invaded everyplace else (including both
Germany and Japan). I realize you are jealous. As you (and others)
have a right to be. However, you must admit, at least to yourself,
that you faint at the sight of blood. Even a bloody nose can do that
to Belgians. Which explains why the Japanese chose to bomb Pearl
Harbor rather than Brussels.
LL>> Of course those Japanese "war criminals" were convicted in our
LL>> kangaroo courts and executed. What else would you have expected?
WD>Those trials were of the highest legalistic order and well
WD>documented. They were not mock trials but carried out along
WD>a number of lines which are exemplary of a civilised society.
Japanese who are accused of crimes should be tried in Japan.
Americans who are accused of crimes should be tried in the USA.
That goes for both civilians and military. We made exceptions
in regards to Nazis and Japanese officers/military personnel.
However, that does not make it right or proper.
We call ourselves a "civilized society" and yet we hold prisoners
indefinitely in Cuba without charges. Where is justice in that?
To kidnap people and hold them against their will until the day
they die in deplorable conditions is nothing short of barbaric.
And yet this is the type of behavior that you support?
WD>Not everybody got executed, some got jail sentences, some even got
WD>released and declared innocent as per the charges filed.
What is the difference between getting executed after having been
tried and convicted in a kangaroo court, and receiving a life sentence
without parole without ever having been charged with a crime? One
form is a quick death, the other form a slow death. Both without
any hope of ever getting out - except in a pine box.
LL>> Saddam Hussein mocked his Shiite executioners by asking them just
LL>> before they hanged him, "Is this manly?" What a brave man he was,
LL>> hitting the nail on the head with that comment.
WD>Saddam needed to be killed, and quickly.
Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld traveled to Baghdad and
shook hands with Saddam Hussein. Why? Because the two of them
had made a deal. We sold weapons to Saddam Hussein so that he
could continue his mad war with Iran.
Oops. Wrong administration.
Fast forward to the George W. Bush administration.
Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld led the charge for war against
Saddam Hussein, the basis for his call to arms being weapons of mass
destruction. However, after the invasion of Iraq, and a new regime
having been put into place, no weapons of mass destruction could be
found. That is when new excuses for war started to be announced.
Excuse after excuse after excuse was announced. And finally, the
last excuse, Saddam Hussein was a bad guy.
All by the guy who was best buds with Saddam Hussein.
WD>Just like Osama bin Laden.
Saddam Hussein (and Osama bin Laden) was a bad guy? That is your
excuse for the US going to war in Iraq? What other "bad guys" would
you like the US to kill for you? Oh. You did mention Osama bin Laden.
Our previous president (GWB) had ObL cornered in Afghanistan. But
he let him go. Apparently, he had bigger fish to fry. Such as Saddam
Hussein. Our present president (Barack Obama) gave an order to Navy
SEAL Team Six to "terminate with extreme prejudice." Never did our
president say the word "assassinate" - as that would have been grounds
for impeachment.
There are lots of bad guys in the world. Some of them are packing
heat. Real heat such as nuclear weapons. How many cities should the
USA sacrifice just to kill one bad guy? How many cities should Belgium
sacrifice? Oh, that's right. Sissies run away from fights ...
LL>> Imagine what Adolf Eichmann said after the
LL>> Jews kidnapped him and convicted him in an Israeli kangaroo court,
LL>> executed him by hanging, and finally cremating him then throwing
LL>> his ashes into the Mediterranean Sea.
WD>It so happens I knew the man who grabbed Eichmann from the
WD>street and wrestled him into a car, the late Peter Malkin.
WD>It was a pleasure feeling the raw hands that did the deed
WD>and to be able to say "Thank you".
By kidnapping Eichmann, he was only following orders.
Doesn't matter that kidnapping is a crime. Doesn't matter
that the end result was the death of a human being who was
likewise guilty of nothing more than "following orders."
And yet you call the man who kidnapped a clerk a "hero"?
You should be ashamed of yourself.
WD>Eichmann got what he denied 6 million others ...
How many Jews were really sent to the gas chambers? You can't
tell me because you don't know. In fact, nobody knows. The fact
of the matter is that 11 MILLION PEOPLE (JEWS AND NON-JEWS) DIED
IN GHETTOS AND WORK CAMPS UNDER NAZI CONTROL. Sure, a handful
of Nazi mad scientists did some experiments on some subjects,
but that does not mean that all Nazis were evil. In fact, most
Germans of that time were Nazis and fully supported their
Fuhrer. Anyway, according to Adolf Eichmann, he never killed
anybody. After all, he was just a lowly clerk.
WD>a trial ...
A trial. In a kangaroo court. In the Jewish state of Israel.
Hardly what anybody would call a jury of one's peers.
WD>a chance to defend himself ...
Kind of like Saddam Hussein (a Sunni) being judged by the Shiite
hit squad who executed him.
WD>even an appeal to the judgement.
Adolf Eichmann had already been judged guilty by his executioners
long before he was kidnapped and brought to trial in Israel.
The real question is, why did the world choose to do nothing,
allowing Eichmann to remain free to the point where Israel felt
it had to do something?
LL>> Klingons, as do Sicilians, have a saying - "Revenge is a dish
LL>> best served cold."
WD>It was a statement by Jean-Jacques Rousseau ... famous French
WD>phylosopher.
WD>"La vengeance est un plat qui se mange froid".
Yeah, I know. But every group wants to take credit. ;)
