Obviously they didn't do their research properly since the iso went mainstream
in 1987.  Exactly when did your software start pioneering?  I can't seem to peg
a date to either IBM-PC or CP437 but if my memory serves me right it was much
later than 1987 when first encountering it and all the grief it caused.  Other
than the box drawing characters, which many conflict with iso based control
characters, what is the attraction?  Certainly can't be compatibilty that is
for sure.

Mostly obsoleted IBM types near as I can tell from this angle although I didn't
see any problem with the few CP437 encoded ones he sent either.  Mind you my
software never did give precedence to any of the IBM/DOS codepages so obviously
it is much more 'pioneering' as well as compatible.  :::evil grin:::

As far as what Björn expects, I'd guess it would be iso-8859-1 given his
locale but I am sure he can speak for himself and his software.  I think he
does recognize the issue but has yet to discover the solution which puts him
many, many steps ahead of where you and your software currently are ->
extinction mode.  :::snicker:::

Really?  The only problems I have noticed in this echo all originate from
certain sysops and not their 'technology'.  Looks more like exploitation from
this angle.
