The focus here should be on what the Church thinks about church law...there
is noting exculpatory for the rapist/child abuser/scumbag...
That is to be settled in a court of civilian law. Whether justly or
unjustly I don't know...don't know about Brazil execpt it's one of my
favorite songs)

You know, I'been on the receing end of sentences that begin thus, seldom
does it prove correct.:-) Lessee...

Neither you or I know what she believes or how strongly she believes it. 
Neither you are I are Catholics. ANY sentence that starts 'Chances are" and
continues with a guess in what some else believes leads nowhere.

How the hell would you know? :-) God, you know what other people will think
and believe and imagine with out knowing dick, and now you want to define
an entity that you scorn.

You are talking about crime. The Church does not approve of crime (Big news
flash!) The church will not abrogate a principle: namely that at the
moment...the very instant...etc. etc. A soul is implanted, and you don't
want to mess with a persons soul, and if you do, the whole principle can be
challenged. (Freemasons will ask you if you believe there is a God and does
he make his will known to man? If you are honest you cannot be a Freemason.
I think they have a right to make that a requirement. You want to be a
Catholic? You gotta take lessons! Theres a list!)

Not only an inhumane silly childish burst of nothing, it is based primarily
on your abject ignorance. Sorry to be blunt, I really like you when you
talk elsewhere about politics...

In Sum: It is NOT about the crime, it is about a vowed agreement to The
Rules. You break your vow you just might taint others. Others might do the
same. so. Outta the club. Funny, that a man rapes a child and you want to
kill the Pope. Remind me not to vote for you running for judge.
I feel strongly about this, not to defend Catholics, but because I just
read (near here) a desire to kill all Muslims, amid ignorant fulminations
concerning their beliefs, culture, behavior etc...now I know I'm coming on
strong, and I am aware that my influence is nearly non-existent, I am NOT a
scholar, but I am a student and I think weird the difficulty of choosing
between a choice of killing  lot of people or becoming aware that other
beliefs have value because people believe they do, and toleration of them
can turn into interest, enjoyment and respect, which in my opinion means a
lot of unshed blood. I don't defend terrorists, or Jonestown Christians,
but theres a lot of wisdom and beauty in Islam and Jesus. (To just mention
two :-)
