See now that is what I was talking about.  Without the squish format getting in
the way the same job could be accomplished far more readily using straight text
file(s) to html with a suitable cgi script.  How are you planning to take care
of the editting part for replies or new posts?  Or is this read only?

Right.  Would be simplest just to lose all the 16-bit binary integers in the
header(s) and stick to ascii for whatever silly kludges etc.  Heck even DOS can
handle those.

No thank you.  OSX is a crippled Unix for sheeple who want to pretend they know
what they're doing.  Myself I want and have the good stuff and don't require a
GUI despite having one if I really want one which most times I don't.  However
at least OSX isn't DOS-think which is the only good thing that can be said in
it's favour.  Beats the rest ... except my Linux boxes which it cannot even
dream competing with in terms of pure, unadultered, raw pure Unixie power. 
Both pure 32-bit and 64-bit too!  None of that sissy 32-bit crap pretending to
be 64-bit either like the rest, Linux included.
